The Mitch Churi Chat Show launches today in partnership with Acast
Award-winning broadcaster and one of Australia’s most recognisable media personalities, Mitch Churi, today launches The Mitch Churi Chat Show – a bold new podcast created in partnership with Acast and powered by Appliances Online.
Designed for the internet age, the twice-weekly podcast offers a fresh take on the traditional late night talk show. Mitch welcomes the biggest names in entertainment for candid, unfiltered conversations on a custom-built set.
Episodes will be released as both an audio podcast and a full video series on YouTube, with short-form clips optimised for TikTok and Instagram Reels. Alongside celebrity interviews, the show will feature a rotating cast of commentators unpacking the week’s hottest pop culture stories.
The Mitch Churi Chat Show builds on Mitch’s track record of creating viral moments, with his celebrity interviews amassing more than 220 million views online over the past decade.
“Creating a talk show has always been a dream of mine,” says Mitch. “This podcast fills a gap in the market I first noticed while working in radio – think Call Her Daddy meets The Graham Norton Show, but made for Australians.”
The launch marks a major move for Mitch, who steps away from a successful national radio career to focus on podcasting as an independent creator.
Known for his humour, warmth and ability to put guests at ease, he was named Best Music Presenter at the 2022 ACRAs and crowned Australia’s Most Relatable Broadcaster by TalentCorp in 2024.
Mitch previously hosted his own show on KIIS FM and regularly features on hit podcasts Life Uncut and The Pickup.
As an ambassador for Stan, he continues to build an enviable black book of some of the world’s biggest artists, including Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, Stephen Fry and Billie Eilish.
Acast, the world’s largest independent podcast company, will host, distribute and monetise The Mitch Churi Chat Show across all platforms.
“Working with Acast has been a dream,” says Mitch. “Those cuties are so easy to work with and really get what I'm trying to create with this show. Maybe it’s all the saunas or the clean Swedish air – Acast first launched in Sweden and now has a killer local team here in Australia – but the way they let podcasters retain full creative freedom, while still offering guidance and resources, is something the audio industry could really learn from.”
Ryan Lamont, Senior Development Manager for Acast ANZ, says:
“Mitch is deeply embedded in the world of pop culture and is a fantastic storyteller. He’s going to bring a fresh energy to Australian podcasting with a format that’s missing locally.
With the decline of late night shows in the US and Australia, podcasting is becoming the new hub to facilitate celebrity chats, comedy spotlights and cultural commentary. Mitch’s next chapter is perfectly timed to make waves in Australia and beyond. The team at Acast is excited to support Mitch in building an entertainment show he fully controls.”
James Bartlett, General Manager for Appliances Online, adds:
“Appliances Online is proud to be the launch partner for The Mitch Churi Chat Show. Mitch is known for creating memorable experiences and connecting with his audiences in a meaningful way, which has great synergies with the Appliances Online brand. Whether it's reimagining a late-night talk show or making appliance shopping easier and more enjoyable, this collaboration is all about bringing our legendary service to a legendary audience.”
The Mitch Churi Chat Show launches on 10 September and is available wherever you get your podcasts.
