Achtung! Millwall 153: Millwall 2-0 Nottingham Forest 30.03.18

“I like winning. I love winning games and I love seeing the boys win.”

Perhaps this will come to be the iconic Neil Harris quote. His words, speaking after the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, somehow sum up the building energy, belief and sheer will to victory that has taken hold over The Den since January.

An efficient rather than magnificent performance, two times European Cup winners Forest were despatched like movie patsies who have stumbled into a mafia heist. From the blistering opening 20 second goal by Shaun Williams, to the clinical finish by Lee Gregory on 33 minutes this was a job of work done by a group of men with intent.

With other results going Millwall’s way, there is a gathering sense that this thing is becoming real. As these note are being written, the Lions are placed 8th in the table, just one point from the Valhalla of 6th spot.

Can we do it?

Why not? Fate lies in our hands and another three points lay available for the taking at Portman Road, Ipswich on Easter Monday. If Millwall can keep their heads, whilst others around them are losing theirs, then all the world might yet be ours.

‘If’ ...

Arrivederci Millwall
