Achtung! Millwall 147: Reading 0-2 Millwall 03.02.18

Well just like your old time London buses you wait ages for a Millwall away win, then two come along at once. Yesterday’s fine 2-0 victory at the soulless M4 retail park that is the Madjeski Stadium puts us in, ‘a very good place’ right now as this week’s guest pundit Teddy Bellamy rightly puts it.

The new wave of January signings has galvanised the club and the squad’s performance at Reading shows the bond that exists once again between the players and the Lions’ support. A fantastic day out for all who went yesterday.

Just how far can we go this season? Certainly mid-table respectability and a Fifth Round cup extravaganza at home to Tottenham will be the minimum expectations now. Yes we can take nothing for granted, not least the tricky visit to Spotland in the cup replay, but the allure of Spurs at home - and anything above the current 14th position in the Championship - will be a massive achievement by manager Neil Harris.

Finally, I wanted to thank each and every donation to the @walkforisla appeal on behalf of the very Isla Caton appeal - it makes me personally so proud to support a club like ours that we give such passionate support both on and off the pitch. We wlll always have our critics and no one will ever truly like us (we don’t care), but the support being given by the Millwall Family to this very brave young lady is immense. Cancer has no colours.
