Elli Dimitroulakos, Tiffany Ashitey and Lauren Tharp take home Top Women in Media and Ad Tech Awards

2022.06.07

This week, Acast celebrated as three women from different sectors of the business were decorated as industry leaders by the Top Women in Media and Ad Tech awards. The honor recognizes not only their great work within Acast, but throughout the entire podcast industry.

First up, Elli Dimitroulakos, Head of Automation in the Americas, was named a Programmatic Storyteller. The award celebrates her dedication to driving initiatives that use technology and automation to enhance the efficacy of media and business operations.

In the US market, the demand for high-quality, tailored advertising content that keeps storytelling at its heart is exceptionally high, from both brands and their audiences. Elli has worked tirelessly to create and implement programmatic advertising solutions that are successful in both connecting brands with the appropriate audiences and creating a fair ecosystem for podcasters to monetize their work.

Elli is not only improving the bottom line for Acast brand partners and podcasters, but creating innovative technologies and processes for the future of podcast advertising and brand storytelling.

Joining Elli on the awards podium was Tiffany Ashitey, US Director of the Creator Network, who was awarded in the Change Maker category for her commitment to enabling podcasters to monetize their work while maintaining their creative freedoms.

Throughout her career, Tiffany has been a champion for accessibility in the podcast industry. In addition to ensuring accessibility is a reality for podcast audiences, Tiffany prioritizes accessibility for creators — using all resources available to her to welcome underrepresented communities into the space.

Specifically, she has led Acast’s free Aclass event series for podcasters of diverse backgrounds and identities, as well as launching the ESSENCE podcast network and creating CultureCon’s For The Culture Podcast PitchFest sponsored by Acast.

Also among the honorees was former Product Manager at Acast, Lauren Tharp. Lauren was named a Tech Trailblazer for her work at Acast to build technology that democratizes the podcast space and allows creators of all sizes — not just the top 1% — to make a living off their hard work and retain creative control.

All three award recipients were honored Monday night, June 6, at the Top Women in Media and Ad Tech Awards Gala in New York City.
