Acast, the world’s leading independent podcast company, today announces That Peter Crouch Podcast has joined the Acast Creator Network.

Hosted by England footballing legend Peter Crouch and produced by George Cottam, the podcast has racked up 60 million listens since launching in 2018 — cementing its position as the UK’s most-listened-to sports podcast, and one of the region’s biggest shows. It will now be hosted by Acast, distributed to every podcast listening platform and app, and monetised exclusively through the Acast Marketplace.

Acast’s partnership with That Peter Crouch Podcast will build on its massive success by amplifying the reach of the show globally, as well as — for the first time — opening up the podcast for commercial opportunities. Advertisers will be able to buy sponsorships, brand integrations, ads and other premium ad products.

The podcast will also unlock access to fan-supported revenue with Acast’s podcast subscriptions service Acast+, offering paying subscribers even more brilliant content and building on the devoted community they have already built.

“Joining Acast is just like signing for one of the world's biggest football clubs. We get all the support to develop as much as possible, while we also get the chance to reach an even larger, global audience. We look forward to working with Acast to grow further,” said Peter Crouch, host of That Peter Crouch Podcast.

That Peter Crouch Podcast has been a sensation since its launch on BBC Radio 5 Live, with hundreds of thousands of listeners tuning in every week to hear Crouch, co-hosts and celebrity guests chatting in the pub about what it takes to be a professional footballer. Each episode takes fans behind the scenes of the beautiful game, covering everything from dressing room politics to the ins-and-outs of transfers, and Crouch’s football confessions.

The show has welcomed a long line of high-profile guests, including the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, who chose the show for his first-ever guest appearance on a podcast, discussing mental health and the role that football can play in supporting people’s mental wellbeing. The podcast has also featured legendary Premier League manager Harry Redknapp, documentarian Louis Theroux, and Oasis’s Liam Gallagher.

That Peter Crouch Podcast is the latest UK podcast giant to join the growing Acast Creator Network, following in the footsteps of the likes of signed Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place, and The Guilty Feminist with Deborah Frances-White.

“That Peter Crouch podcast has managed to bottle the magic of being in the pub with your pals, having a laugh while chatting about football,” said Mike Wooller, Content Development Manager at Acast. “That’s the very essence of what makes a good podcast, creating an experience that feels like a conversation between friends — one of whom just happens to be a former professional player.

“As huge fans of the show we’re looking forward to bringing more laughs from That Peter Crouch Podcast to listeners on all podcast apps — and helping the team reach more people around the world.”

Listeners can follow and subscribe to the show wherever they get their podcasts, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Podcasts, Overcast, and many more.

For brands and advertisers looking to work with That Peter Crouch Podcast, opportunities are available exclusively through the Acast Marketplace.
